As a global environmental partner with The British Ironworks Centre, we are thrilled to announce that our Global Ocean Trawler pack has arrived and has been installed against the fence line by the main playground.
Kindly begin collecting your crisp and confectionery wrappers (any brand, any size) and drop them off in our net. Feel free to share this with others—we’re excited for this to be a community-driven initiative!

Help us recycle and repurpose your waste! 
Drop off your empty crisp and confectionery packets, and we’ll ensure they’re put to good use.
You can bring them to the school office or place them in the Global Ocean Trawler Challenge net located on the rear playground fence.
Keep up the great work by collecting more over the Easter break—every packet makes a difference!

Stephanie and Arla have been keeping all of their crisps packets especially to add to our net! Stephanie had fun adding all of the packets into the net and watching it fill up, she was super proud and cannot wait to watch the progress! Once they have collected some more, they will be adding these too.

From Rubbish to Rescue: Transform crisp and confectionery packets into Survival Blankets!
Why?
The aim is to help reduce waste entering our environment and eventually our oceans. 
With fish and ocean mammals living in increasingly deteriorating habitats, it is our duty to step in and prioritise the reduction of plastics entering our natural world.
Our collected packets will be donated by The British Ironworks Centre to organisations who can put them to good use (for instance, turning them into survival blankets for the homeless).
Did you know?
The UK alone currently discards 16 million crisp packets per day; 6 billion per year.Packets dating back to the 1960’s have been washing up on our shores, demonstrating the longevity of plastics in our oceans.
The continual damage they can cause our wildlife is unforgivable.Not only are fully-formed crisp packets damaging, but also the micro-plastics that emanate from them as they break down over time.
This is devastating for the welfare of wildlife and ongoing, the human race too.It is estimated that there is over 324,000 people were experiencing homelessness in the UK.
This is only set to rise with increasing living and housing costs.
Supporting The British Ironworks Centre by collecting these packets will aid societal and charitable organisations in their amazing journey to offer help to those who need it most.
