At Market Drayton Infant and Nursery School, we approach pastoral support and behaviours from a place of empathy and understanding, taking time to get to know members of our school community, their interests, individual needs, and the context that our young people are growing up in. This includes their experiences of school, family, and community life.· Play therapy for those children needing further intervention
Meet our Child and Family Worker
I am very proud to be part of the Market Drayton Infant and Nursery Team. As my title says, I am here to support the children and their families. This might be as pastoral support for a child having emotional difficulties or signposting parents to external agencies. I can offer support in times of conflict and challenges, whether that be co-parenting, foodbank vouchers, School Nurse referrals and Early Help intervention.
Please get in touch if you need any kind of support.

Early Help
Early help means taking action to support a child, young person or their family as soon as a problem emerges. It can be required at any stage in a child’s life, from pre-birth to adulthood, and applies to any problem or need that the family can’t deal with alone.

Parenting Support
The Parenting Support team in Shropshire can offer knowledge of appropriate strategies that can be used to deal with everyday parenting challenges. The aim for all parents is to raise healthy, well-rounded children in a loving, stable environment, and they can support parents, carers and communities to do this.
They offer clinics, workshops and online courses.
Contact this number if you have any concerns about a child.

NSPCC Support for Parents Parenting can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. We’ve got parenting tips for all stages of your child’s life, as well as advice on how to deal with difficult situations.
Keeping your child safe when using the internet, social media or mobile devices is paramount but can sometimes be tricky.
The internet is great and can help your child to keep in touch with their friends and education – but it can also cause harm – to them and to others.
Remember, help is always available at school if you are having any problems online. Don’t be afraid to talk to your child’s teacher or another adult in school. Remind your child that they can talk to staff too.
Tips for staying safe online:
- Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don’t know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.
- Know how to use the CEOP button and how to report it to the CEOP Centre if you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you.
There are many different websites that can be used at home to support your child understanding internet safety. Please follow this link to share with your child – Personal Development.

Increases in the cost of food, fuel and utilities will affect most households across Shropshire this year. If you find yourself worried about money or you’re struggling right now, you’re not alone.
But don’t wait to get help. Shropshire Council and many support organisations are seeing rises in the number of people seeking help, and as winter approaches you may see more delays in getting responses.
The good news is that there’s help available. This section was created in partnership with trusted community organisations to help you find the help you need, whether it’s to get through a short-term crisis or to find more long-term support.
Advice and support is available in if you’re struggling to make ends meet.
