Our school was awarded the Musicmark in 2021. Our school understands that it is important for us all to have lots of different experiences and Music is one of the things that makes our curriculum so great.
Our Learning
In music we have four threshold concepts (these are what we should understand) and return to them again and again. They are:
- Describing
- Performing
- Composing
- Transcribing
One of our favourite things about music is that we get to learn two tuned instruments- the ocarina in Year 1 and the ukulele in Year 2. This is with the help of the Shropshire Music Service and we really enjoy our lessons. It also helps us become confident ukulele players for when we move into year 3 at the junior school.
