Intent
We aim to give all children as much experience as they can to love the world around them and make sense of it. We give the children responsibilities to help look after our class and school, which develops respect for our town and world.
We aim to nurture knowledge, kindness, wisdom, and desire to make our school a more eco-friendly place and ultimately to be part of a more sustainable world. We promote awareness of national campaigns to highlight ways to respect the environment.

Recent News
Eco School Council – First Meeting Update
On September 19th the children took part in their very first Eco School Council meeting. It was an exciting opportunity for them to learn what it means to be an Eco School and to begin their journey as eco ambassadors.
During the meeting, the children:
- Learned about the purpose and goals of the Eco School Council.
- Met their fellow council members.
- Discussed the types of responsibilities they will be taking on.
- Identified areas within the school that already support eco-friendly practices, as well as areas that need improvement.
One key area highlighted for development was recycling. Following the meeting, the children returned to their classes to nominate a Recycling Monitor who will help lead efforts to improve recycling in their classroom.
This leads nicely into Recycling Week, and the children will be exploring what recycling is, why it matters, and how they can make a difference both at school and at home.
We’re incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and commitment to making our school a greener place!

The Eco School committee complete an environmental review and this raises which areas the school are going to work on during the year.
